Summer Training
Hello,
It's time for all aspiring cross country runners to get in gear for summer training. Next Thursday, 6/24, at the CR Board of Education meeting, the annual presentation of coaches for fall sports will be made, asking for Board approval. The AD will recommend myself, Jamie Bagley, to coach the Boys team and Michelle Hoxworth to coach the Girls. Since the approval meeting is late this year, we have already been asked to make plans for summer training.

Coach Hox and I have developed the following schedule, which we hope will work for all. If we find that we need to make adjustments, we will do so. WE WILL BEGIN ON MONDAY, 6/28, at 6:30pm
*Note: To participate in summer training sessions you must 1)pick up, complete and turn in to the nurse the athletic participation packet, and 2) sign a waiver, along with your parents, that includes health insurance info. You may get this form at the first training session if you haven't yet. Your parents must be with you to fill it out,if you want to participate at that time.
Monday's - 6:30pm at CR
Tuesday's 8:30am at CR
Thursday's 6:30pm at CR
*Note: Occasionally location may change so that we can train on varied terrain (we need to run hills).
On Sunday evenings there is a group run at Parvins, at the beach area, beginning 6:30pm. Your coaches will be there; we hope you will be there as well.
*Please also note that the Parvin's Running Camp will be 8/2-7 & 21 this year. The camp will meet 5:30-8pm week nights and 8-9:30am on Saturday's. The Saturday sessions will be a 5k time trail (race). Camp info will be posted at xc-camp-10.blogspot.com
AND... don't forget to bring your hydration supplies with you to practice. The school will not be open for our evening sessions. There will be a port-a-pottie available for your special toilet times.

SPORT PARTICIPATION PACKETS
The first important step you need to take to get on the team is having your sport participation packet filled out and turned in to the nurse’s office!
Whether you’ve done a sport in the spring or you’re brand new, you will need to fill out this packet! Packets can be downloaded from the CRHS website www.crhsd.org. Click on athletics, than pre-participation forms. They can also be picked up in the nurse’s office or the main office between 7:30 & 5pm Monday-Thursday, closed Friday. Note: The forms are different this year so if you picked up one before June it’s the old form and will not be accepted. The participation forms are due July 31st in the nurse’s office.
If your doctor physical is not expired that’s great but you still need to fill out a new sport participation packet listing Cross Country as your sport. If your doctor physical is expired or will expire soon, you must get a doctor’s appointment. (This time of year everyone needs their physical’s so don’t delay! Call right away!)
If you run into any problems or have any questions, feel free to contact one of the coaches. However, once the deadline passes (July 31st), there will be nothing we can do for you.
