Important LEG maintenance

It's important for you to do leg maintenance throughout the season. You will find that stretching and moving your tired muscles will help you recover from workouts that leave you feeling fatigued. Cross training, such as cycling and swimming will also get the blood flowing through your tired muscles without the pounding of running, helping the recovery process.

Massage is also important for leg maintenance. You don't have to pay big bucks and visit a masseuse. You can use the palm of your hand for great results, or a massage stick (TheStick.com). Two muscle groups in your legs that you'll want to address are the Ilio Tibial Band and the Vastus Medialis. Long slow strokes over these muscle groups will help to release muscle tensions and get the blood flowing to bring about healing.
